About me
Antonio Pio Ciaramella is a guitarist, composer and improviser based in Bologna. He studied Classical Guitar, Jazz Guitar and Composition, and Electronic Music. From 2019 to 2023, he attended the Permanent Workshop for Musical Research at Siena Jazz - National Academy of Jazz (Italy). He has released music on several labels such as Elli Records, Barly Records, Slowth Records and Karma Conspiracy Records.
Since 2022, he has been part of Bologna Improvisation Group (BIG). In 2020, he formed a trio called RATTI to extend his music research to avant-garde/free jazz. In 2019, he started Songs for Kraken (SFK), an experimental music project focusing on non-idiomatic improvisation and electroacoustic research. He is also the co-founder of the art/psych rock project Slow Nerve.
Moreover, he has had several collaborations with other art forms, always aiming to create experimental works, among which Solve coagula, BSCRZCLL732NN, Viaggio al suono della notte, Pneuma and Protean Self.
He has performed in many underground clubs and at events such as TRK. Sound Club/Studio Live (Tempo Reale, Florence), Suono Domenica (Conservatory of Bologna), RoBOt (Bologna), Martini Elettrico (Conservatory of Bologna), ARIA (Tempo Reale, Florence), Parade Électronique (MMT Creative Lab/Tempo Reale, Milan), Fondazione Zucchelli Special Prize (First Prize, Opificio Golinelli, Bologna), Glitch Party (Tempo Reale, Florence), Geografie del Suono (L’Asilo, Naples), Eufonica (BolognaFiere, Bologna), and La luna e i calanchi (Aliano, Matera).
